More »Posted on Everything Microsoft – Latest News, Guides, Reviews & ThemesBased on its sources, Reuters is reporting that Nokia is indeed planning to unveil a Lumia 610, low-cost Windows Phone at Mobile World Congress on February 27th. They were also able to confirm that Nokia has plans to announce a global version of the Lumia 900 device which is set to come exclusively to AT&T in March. It is believed that the 610 will be a low-end, pay-as-you-go type device, which will enable both Nokia and Microsoft to hit very low price points and ship many devices in different markets. News and reports of a global version of the Lumia 900 has been rolling around the rumor mill for a few weeks and given the success of the 800 in Europe, it’s no surprise that Nokia is announcing a high-end version as well.Given the current state of the smartphone market, it is very important for both Nokia and Microsoft to reach as broad a user base with their Windows Phones as soon as possible. Having devices from a very low-end to a very high-end and shipping in many different markets gives the two companies the best chance to compete with the two established platform leaders, Apple and Google.Related PostsNokia Reiterates that They Are Off to an Excellent Start with Windows PhoneNokia Might Release Windows Phones “Very Quickly”Microsoft in “Early Talks” to bring TV Services to your Living Room?Nokia Lumia 900′s Exclusivity May End After 45 DaysWindows 7 Theme For Nokia N97 And Nokia 5800Reuters Confirms Nokia Will Unveil a 610 and Global 900 at WMC is a post from Everything Microsoft – Latest News, Guides, Reviews & Themes – Read the latest Windows 8, Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Themes, Wallpapers, Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 7, Windows Server, Xbox 360, Zune & IE9. Posted on Everything Microsoft – Latest News, Guides, Reviews & ThemesHave you ever had the problem that the sound volume of an application or game in Windows 7 was to high or to low? This happens to me quite often when I start games for the first time after installation. The music is often to loud, which can be especially troublesome if you are hanging out in voice chat with a few buddies at the same time.If you cannot hear what your friends are saying, you know the sound of the game is to loud. Some applications and most games let you change the sound volume right in their preferences, while other’s do not offer these options. There may also be situations where an app or game is making annoying sounds that you want to mute completely. One useful feature that Microsoft integrated into Windows 7 is the ability to control the sound volume per application, and not only globally or per sound output device.A left-click on the volume icon in the system tray area still displays only the global sound control which you can use to change the volume of sounds for all apps and games that run on the system.A right-click on the icon and the selection of Open Volume Mixer displays the global mixer and application specific mixers. Here it is now possible to increase or decrease the sound volume of specific applications, or even mute them completely to block all sounds from that app automatically. The global slider moves all other sliders in relation. If you increase the global sound for instance, all application specific volumes are moved by the same amount to their new positions.I personally use the feature to mute specific applications completely, and reduce the sound of apps that have their volume set to loud by default.Have you used the feature before? If so, for what purpose?Related PostsHow To Boot Windows 7 SilentlyWindows 7 UAC Security FlawMy Personal Windows 7 Upgrade ExperienceHow To Extend a Partition in Windows 7How to Shrink a Volume in Windows 7Quick Tip: Control the Sound Volume Of Specific Applications is a post from Everything Microsoft – Latest News, Guides, Reviews & Themes – Read the latest Windows 8, Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Themes, Wallpapers, Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 7, Windows Server, Xbox 360, Zune & IE9.
