Posted on Windows 7 News & Tips Microsoft have patented a new type of slider Windows Phone the contains storage for a swappable accessory.  In the patent application the accessory, which can pop out for wireless use in addition to being used in the handset itself, could include speakers, a keyboard, a gaming pad or even a second battery.  One implementation shows the module containing a second touch screen that can double as a media remote control. This is very interesting as it clearly demonstrates that, with the smartphone market now pretty mature, there’s still life in the old dog that can surprise us.  Presumably other types of devices, perhaps even a Kinect style controller (okay perhaps that’s a silly idea) can be added to change the usage of the phone depending on your mood or what you are doing that day
