Latest Google Chrome Edition How Supports Taskbar Previews

I love Google Chrome and use it all the time as my default browser, however the one thing that has bugged me about it was the lack of Taskbar previews for each individual tab, just like what Internet Explorer has. I recently wrote about Opera which just acquired this feature in it’s latest build and now it looks like Google have finally gone and done the same thing. It’s a feature I and many others have been shouting at Google for not including for a while now but in the latest build of Google Chrome 5, we finally see support for individual tab previews from the taskbar.

IE9, standards, and why Acid3 isn’t the priority

Microsoft’s development direction of Internet Explorer 9 is unambiguous: implementing HTML5 web standards is the name of the game, with the intent of letting developers use the “same markup” to work everywhere. As IE General Manager Dean Hachamovitch said at MIX10 this week, “We love HTML5 so much we actually want it to work.” Redmond is targeting real-world applications based on real-world data. Windows Phone 7 Table Concept seen

Freelance designer Umang Dokey has released images and a video of a tablet concept running the Windows Phone 7 Series OS.  The concept has an 8” capacitive touch screen, joysticks on the back for navigation and gaming, a couple of webcams for “3D” videoconferencing and a funky fold-out stand at the back that doubles as a keyboard when folded forward. It’s an interesting concept but primarily for showing us precisely what Windows Phone 7 OS might look like on a tablet.  I must say I’m not overwhelmed, software-wise.  While I absolutely love and adore Microsoft’s new mobile operating system, this concept, for me anyway, demonstrates that it’s really better on smaller screens.  I’ll leave you all to make up your own minds however and would be interested in your comments. The other great tablet concept around at the moment is also from Microsoft, and it’s Courier device that’s aimed at being a portable notebook, pretty much getting back to the portable digital assistant concept of the late 1980’s.  Courier is slated (sic!) for a product launch late in 2010.  It will be interesting to see if Windows Phone 7 OS also makes its way onto this form-factor.
