It’s March 1st, and Microsoft bringeth forth the chaos

Okay so there’s a couple of big things happening from today that you should know about, and I’ll get to the first one quickly just in case. Windows 7 Release Candidate / Beta Shutdown Begins From today, pre-release versions of Windows 7 will shut down every two hours as a cuddly-wuddly caring way to tell you that you ought to upgrade to the final code.

Firefox may never hit 25 percent market share

Another IE Flaw Afflicts XP Users

Users got another reason to switch to Windows 7 today when Microsoft announced that a VBScript bug could be used to install malware on computers running Internet Explorer and Windows XP. The hole was discovered by Maurycy Prodeus of iSEC Security Research, who posted a proof-of-concept hack this past Friday.

Windows XP downgrade lawsuit dismissed

US District Court Judge Marsha Pechman has dismissed a year-old lawsuit against Microsoft over alleged antitrust violations for the downgrade rules it set for Windows Vista and XP. Google Chrome Grows in February Beating IE and Firefox

According to NetMarketShare, the Google Chrome browser gained .4% of global usage share in February.  All other major browsers showed a month-to-month decline. Browser Trends? Maybe more interesting is that these first two months of 2010 may end up being the beginning of a new trend.
